Hot, hot, hot............................

I know most of the US is under this heat dome and it isn't fun.  It's the humidity that is the worst part.

I spent most of the day working slowly, some quilting, some knitting, a little organizing in the basement.  One good thing happened; I found my missing Kaffe Quilts in Italy book which has been missing for several months.  I sewed 2 pieces of batting together with the triple zig zag for a piece 48" x 58".  I will check and see if that works for any of the small tops waiting in line.  If not, I'll add one more strip to it.

Last night I decided to check out what's in this box.  I cut most of these strips 15-20 years ago.

This is the top layer.  It looks like I have a good variety cut.

Yes, there is another layer below, more light fabrics under this end of it.  There are probably enough strips to make a couple king size log cabin quilts.  No, I'm not making any more king size quilts!  I made some 3" nine patch blocks last year.  I could add to that pile.  I'm trying to come up with some easy night time sewing.

Love those dishcloth variegated colors--pretty one!!
Our "feels like temp" last evening at 7 pm was 102!!!
And this morning 6 a.m. 72 already. Definitely an AC day here...
You have some lovely precut batiks to work with there...
Hugs, Julierose

It's in the mid 80's here in Ohio. It's supposed to get hotter this week. HUMID!!! Glad you found your book. I'm hoping to clean the longarm room and load something on the frame. Hopefully I'll find the Christmas pattern book I'm looking for so that I can start my applique circle quilt in the fall. Fingers crossed. Stay cool. Bet this weather is making your cucumbers and tomatoes grow.

What fun to explore and find things that were missing! At least keeps your mind off the heat. We are still in the low 90s during the day but hotter is expected later this week. My longing for fall has begun.

I know first-hand how awful a heat wave can be. I hope your temps moderate soon. That is a nice selection of 1 1/2 batik strips.

The one good thing about the heat is that the laundry that I hag outside dries really fast!

That is great you found your book! Another mystery box filled with fabulous strips. It is in the 90's here. I feel so bad for the guys on this job working out on the bridge today. I couldn't do that. Even with all the modern advancements in construction, it still take people to do the work. I made sure I had a pallet of water bottles and the ice chest was full for today.

Fun post today Wanda ~ IL. Is under a heat dome and the Pacific Northwest has had some snow in their mountains. We had the 90 degree temps several days ago. And then some snow on the mointains tops. Very unusual weather for June

it was 82 when I went to bed at 11 last night. When I woke up this morning I made my breakfast and brought it out to the porch to enjoy in the shady coolness of the porch (76 degrees) I stayed outside for over two hours and could tell it was getting hot- sure enough it was up to 86 I will be in for the rest of the day. Neat find of those strips and the book - but it was under a pile of fabric
